Volunteer with Yukon Learn

Our volunteers are dedicated, enthusiastic individuals who share a genuine interest in helping adults strengthen their literacy skills and achieve their personal goals. Our learners may be seeking support with reading, writing, math, or computer skills. Some have very basic learning needs, while others are looking for more advanced support.

Because our learners’ goals are diverse, we welcome volunteer tutors from all educational and professional backgrounds. By offering one to two hours of one-to-one tutoring per week, you can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

New to Yukon Learn: Mentorship Programs

We are growing our mentorship programs to support individuals who are exploring a specific career path or who are already employed and looking to further develop role-specific skills.

If you are passionate about your career or enjoy supporting others in developing workplace skills, we would love to hear from you. Our mentors come from a wide range of professional and educational backgrounds, from archaeologists to small business advisors.

Mentors typically meet with their mentees for one to two hours per week. Sessions focus on conversations and activities that support mentees in working toward their literacy or career-related goals.

In addition to supporting others, volunteering with Yukon Learn offers you the opportunity to build new skills, meet new people, add variety to your work experience, and contribute positively to your community.

Calling Child Care Professionals!

We are also looking for child care and early learning professionals who are interested in taking part in our peer-to-peer mentorship program, either as mentors or as mentees. This program is designed to support professional growth, knowledge-sharing, and connection within the early learning and child care sector.

Whether you are looking to share your experience or hoping to learn from colleagues, this program offers a supportive space to build skills, confidence, and professional networks.
