Digital Skills for the Work World
This flexible employment program will assist people in gaining basic computer and workplace skills they can use to find and keep suitable employment. This program will assist clients in becoming computer literate while learning employment-related skills that can be used to find and keep suitable employment in their community, elsewhere in the Yukon, or nationally. This program is free of charge and open to anyone.
- Computer Basics: designed for people who have never touched a computer (but computer users will learn many new things too).
- Introduction to Microsoft Word: basic formatting and editing to create Word documents.
- Resume & Cover Letters: more complex formatting and lots of info about making good resumes and cover letters for job applications.
- Job Search: Techniques and resources to find and get a good job.
- Employment Related Soft-Skills: Discussion about things we can do to help us keep that job.
- Introduction to Microsoft Excel: how to use Excel spreadsheet to organize information into nice, neat rows and columns, then format, sort, analyze and do math right on the sheets.
