Yukon Learn, a grassroots non-profit organization, has been tirelessly working to provide free literacy programs and services for adults across the Yukon since 1983. “There are so many ways to have fun and pitch in for literacy,” Executive Director, Julie Anne Ames said. “Beer-pong is back again this year (sponsored by Yukon Brewing), as is the marshmallow long-drive contest (sponsored by Boston Pizza Whitehorse). We also have a new event – Home Hardware will be hosting an oversized Jenga game at their hole. A delicious breakfast will be provided by Ricky’s and a tasty lunch will be provided by Boston Pizza. Klondike Kettle Korn will also be at the event, in case you need snacks! There will also be fantastic prizes and many wonderful items that have been contributed for our online silent auction.”

“Volunteers are always welcome,” Ms. Ames said. “Our volunteer orientation will be on Wednesday, May 31st, at 5:00 PM at the Yukon Learn office, which is at 301-309 Strickland Street. Please join us if you wish to volunteer. It’s always a lot of fun and a great way to pitch in for literacy.”
